The nearest town is Sulina the most eastern town of Romania and Europe, on the mouth of the Danube. Sulina is a small town on the black sea. There is a small port, a pretty beach and shops, hotels and restaurants. The seawater is almost sweet water because of the Danube.
Letea is part of the Municipiality C. A Rosetti together with Cardon, Sfistofca and Periprava (the last one is situated on the uper arm of the Danube on the border from Ucraina.) Letea is situated between Periprava and Sulina on 20 km from the last one. You can cross the Danube in Sulina with a small reach Sulina with a fast boat from Tulcea (70 km from Sulina 1 � hour). Then you reach Letea by car, in winter and in summer you can go through the sandroads in full nature.
You can reach the area by your private boat in 1 � hour from Tulcea and with a main road to Bucharest (290 km).
It is the ideal place to come to rest far from civilianization and noise. The land is situated 300 meter from a channel which joins Letea with the lakes around and the Danube nearby a primitive forest. There are a lot of wild horses, deer, wild bears and other animals. To enter the forest you need an authorization from the forester. More and more tourists visit the area to enjoy the nature and the silence.
